Well i think that even though he made the team it only helped him a little bit of feeling inadequacy. i think this because by making the team he thought it would make him feel better but it did not because to much things is happening to him.

i think that the book is called running loose because it is about louie running away from all his problems.
it appears that the book is titled "Running Loose" because towards the end of the book Louie asks his track coach for advice for his race. And his coach tells him to Run Loose.

This is because Louie doesnt always express his true feelings. He is in a state sort of like denile. He feels weak and useless such as compared to Boomer. He compares himself to the upper liked people and feels bad about who he is.

To answer zynala2cerra's question, Jasper asks Louie to join track because he saw potential in Louie since he ran the Mile during the first day of Football practices.
To answer Brent's question, Louie coulden't believe that Becky was dead because that was the first time he was truely in love was when he was with Becky and he thought that life wasen't fair.

louie yelled sumthing at the priest at the funreal. i think it was cuz he said he was tired of hearing the stuff he said and also he didnt want to cry in the church.and also just for because he hit the mound that the principal made for becky when she past away
To answer Brent's question:he yells in front of the whole church during the funeral because he coulden't see people talk about Becky like they knew her when they didn't . He felt that it would be better off if they didn't speak of her like they knew her.
