Musical Connections to LOTF

When I first heard the song,"Devil in Me" by the 22-20s, the lyrics immediately made me think of Lord of the Flies and William Golding's ideas about man's essential illness-the evil within us all. The guitars and drums also create this frenzy that I can see emphasizing the mood for the scene where the boys kill the sow in Chapter 8.

Your task this week is to create a musical score for a new LOTF movie. You will find a song that you feel connects to any of the scenes or characters in the book. The lyrics don't have to be a direct, literal interpretation of the novel. Maybe it's the music in your song that is setting the mood for a scene from the book. Now is your chance to be creative.

Give me the title, the artist, some of the lyrics, and an explanation of the connection for you.

"THE LORD OF THE FLIES" BY IRON MAIDEN... LYRICS

I don’t care for this world anymore
I just want to live my own fantasy
Fate has brought us to these shores
What was meant to be is now happening

I’ve found that I like this living in danger
Living on edge it makes feel as one
Who cares now what’ right or wrong,
Its reality
Killing so we survive
Wherever we may roam
Wherever we may hide
We’ve got to get away

I don’ want existence to end
We must prepare ourselves for the elements
I just want to feel like were strong
We don’ need a code of morality

I like all the mixed emotion and anger
It brings out the animal the power you can feel
And feeling so high on this much adrenalin
Excited but scary to believe what we’ve become

Saints and sinners
Something within us
We are lord of flies

Saints and sinners
Something willing us
To be lord of the flies
.................................... THIS SONG RELATES TO JACKS Character. However it relates even more with his feelings on chapters 7 and 8. The mood of the song goes along perfect with those chapters. It's exactly what Jack is going through. In fact the Lord of the Flies is the name given to the pigs head, an offering that Jacks gang gives to the beast (worshiping). The flies feast on the pigs head showing that it is to symbolic of the power and cruelty that take control of Jack’s tribe, savage, frenzy, that the hunters kill.
Which leads us to the significance between civilization and savagery. Ralph’s confidence in his own instinct toward morality and order and Jack becoming his own leader and stating up his own society wild, barbaric, and cruel as the novel goes on.

The song I found is "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses, in this song there’s a part that says "it gets worse her everyday" and in chapter 8 Ralph says "The island was getting worse and worse"(139).

"PIECE BY PIECE" by slayer

modulistic terror
a vast sadistic feast
the only way to exit
is going piece by piece

you have no choice of life or death
my face you will not see
i'll rip your flesh 'till there's no breath
dismembered destiny

as soon as life has left your corpse
i'll make you part of me
no emotion death is all i see

modulistic terror
a vast sadistic feast
the only way to exit
is going piece by piece

bones and blood lie on the ground
rotten limbs lie dead
decapitated bodies found
on my wall, your head!

on your trail i close the gap
one more life that soon won't be
no emotion
your flesh is all i need

i'll send you to your maker
confront the god you seek
a flash of red upon his chest
safety out of reach
..................................

when i first red the lyrics to this song, i could have sworn it was written by Jack. this really seems to describe chapters 8&9 perfectly and other specific parts of the book.
the vast sadistic feast seems to describe the feast they had in chapter 9. the 2nd verse seemed to describe the killing of Simon when the boys slashed him up.in the 5th paragraph, it describes what Jack and his hunters did with the pig. they put its head on a stick near the mountain, which could be used as a wall. the verse after that describes Jacks hunt to kill the pig. the first two sentences reminded me of when Jack saw the warm droppings, then after they injured the pig, they saw drops of blood and followed. jack was really closing the gap. i don't think the pig hunt could have been summarized better than it was in that sixth paragraph.

"Sell Your Soul" By Hollywood Undead

Lyrics:

I'm holding on so tightly now, my insides scream so loud
They can watchin , watchin me drowned , how did it come to this

How did it come to this , how did i know it was you
it was a bad dream, asphyxiated watch me bleed
the life support was cut , the knot was too tight,
they push and pull but they know they'll never win

CHORUS:
deuce and j3t: throw it all away throw it all away

I keep on screamin but theres really nothing left to say

So get away, just get away

I keep on fightin but i can't keep going on like this

I can't keep going, can't keep going on like this, they make me sick, and i get so sick of it, cuz they wont let me, they wont let me breath, why can't they let me be,
jdog: why can't they let me be, why dont i know what i am, i force this hate into my heart cuz its my only friend, my lips are sewn shut, i watch my self bleed, they push and pull and its killing me within

I can't keep going, can't keep going on this
way

My heart beat stumbles and my back bone crumbles I feel is it real as the lynch mob doubles they want blood and they'll kill for it, drain me and they'll kneel for it
burn me at the stake met the devil made the deal for it, guiteens dreams ya they're guiteen gleems, the blood of they're enemies watchin while they sense me, sentancing decease sentance decease and watch them bask in the glory of their holy disease

I keep on runnin,
i keep on runnin,
but i can't keep going on this way
.....................................

This song can relate to the struggle of all the boys trying to maintain their civilized minds such as Ralph and Simon. As all the boys are being tempted to give up being civil-minded they start to turn into savagery. In the part of the song where it says "burn me at the stake met the devil made the deal for it" can be compared to when Simon encounters the pig's head and as it talks to him, the head is constantly trying to tempt him to turn into a savage. So as the song is saying "throw it all away" it can also be said that the boys are all throwing away all they used to be and starting a new non-civil life on the island

The song I saw a connection in to LOTF was "Animal I have become" by Three Days Grace. The lyrics reminded me both of Jack and Ralph. It is mainly about inner evil and how much he is changing throughout the video, from a normal person into a demon when he looks into the mirror, just like Jack becoming savage.

Lyrics:
I can't escape this hell
So many times i've tried
But i'm still caged inside
Somebody get me through this nightmare
I can't control myself

So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal
(This animal, this animal)

I can't escape myself
(I can't escape myself)
So many times i've lied
(So many times i've lied)
But there's still rage inside
Somebody get me through this nightmare
I can't control myself

So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal

Somebody help me through this nightmare
I can't control myself
Somebody wake me from this nightmare
I can't escape this hell

(This animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal)

So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal
(This animal I have become)

"Devil In Me" BY 22-20's... LYRICS You'd better
Get the Devil
Outside of me
Outside of me

you said
It would be great
What I'd see
What I'd see

This connects to the story because while they are on the island, they are becoming more like the devil and this song says stay calm and make the right choices. As long as you make the right choices you will make a difference in the environment, to the group of people your with, and yourself.

Good Charlotte "Victims of Love"
this reminds me of when the boys went in the dark to find the beast in the lyrics "It's a dark dark world and there's evil out there and you know it's". it shows how the boys went up the nountains to kill the beast.

"Around The World" by Daft Punk

"Around the world, around the world
Around the world, around the world
Around the world, around the world
Around the world, around the world"

Basically, the whole song says "Around The World" but the beat reminds me of LOFT.

It reminds me of all the times Jack is looking for something to hunt down.

the song i think about that reminds me of lord of the flies is "Welcome To The Jungle" by Guns n' Roses. i agree with chris because now there are two sides of the island and they are getting worse each day and the song has the word jungle and their is a jungle on the island. the title shows us in the book how the boys were sort of "welcomed" into the jungle but instead it brought fear as a welcoming to them instead of like a happier welcoming.

This song is called, "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield.

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions,
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, No one else
Can speak the words on your lips---
This song can be played in the new movie of Lord of the Flies by playing these meaningful lyrics. This can be played in the part where Piggy continually reminds Jack that he has the conch in chapter two, since he wants to show Jack that he can speak and does not care of what others think of him. Piggy has changed to where the point of letting Jack and the others take advantage of him to now having high self-esteem. Piggy now stands up for himself to know that "No one else can speak the words on your lips." This line represents that no one feels the way he does on the inside.

DANCE WITH ME -TS0L

Dance with me my dear
On a floor of bones and skulls
The music is our master
The devil controls our souls
Swirling and swirling
With the music all our turning
Swaying to the sounds of a demonic beat
All our dead partners
As we walk into the crypt
Frightening but delighting
Our host unearthly gloom
Cold blood in my veins roars
I’ve been too long uncaged
My body’s in wild convulsions
As I’m falling into the dust
A ring of death is on me
Like a halo to the Gods
I’m bathed in mortal sorrow
My innocence is lost

_____This connects to where Jack and the boys were dancing after killing a pig & also when they killed Simon. where it says "the devil controls our soul" that connects to how theres evil in everyone and that would sometime control us.. & it also says how they're danicing over skulls and bones and that would also go with the pig part and also simon. At the end of the verse where it says "My innocence is lost" shows when evil comes out their innoncence is lost.

"Armor & Sword" BY RUSH
LYRICS

The snakes and arrows a child is heir to
Are enough to leave a thousand cuts
We build our defences, a place of safety
And leave the darker places enxplored

Sometimes the fortress is too strong
Or the love is too weak
What should have been our armor
Becomes a sharp and angry sword

Our better natures seek elevation
A refuge for the coming night
No one gets to their heaven without a fight

We hold beliefs as a consolation
A way to take us out of ourselves
Meditation or medication
A comfort, or a promised reward

Sometimes the spirit is too strong
Or the flesh is too weak
Sometimes the need is just too great
For the solace we seek
The suit of shining armor
Becomes a keen and bloody sword

A refuge for the coming night
A future of eternal light
No one gets to their heaven without a fight

Confused alarms of stuggle and flight
Blood is drained of color
By the flashes of artillery light
No one gets to their heaven without a fight
The battle flags are flown
At the feet of a god unknown
No one gets to their heaven without a fight

Some times the damage is too great
Or the the will is too weak
What should have been our armor
Becomes a sharp and burning sword

...................... This song
relates to Jack. Jack goes from a determined and rightious person to a savage and that is what this song symbolizes. The mood in this song (to me) sounds different from the novels mood but it is still on the same path as the novel. Mrs. Henry if you listen to this song it would sound great.

Linkin Park-Faint

I am a little bit of loneliness a little bit of disregard
Handful of complaints but I can’t help the fact that everyone can see
these scars
I am what I want you to want what I want you to feel
But it's like no matter what I do, I can't convince you, to just believe
this is real
So I let go, watching you, turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I'm not
But I'll be here 'cause you're all that I got

[Chorus]
I can't feel the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal this damage anymore
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored

I am a little bit insecure a little unconfident
Cause you don't understand I do what I can but sometimes I don't make
sense
I am what you never wanna say but I've never had a doubt
It's like no matter what I do I can't convince you for once just to hear
me out
So I let go watching you turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I'm not
But I'll be here 'cause you're all that I've got

[Chorus]
I can't feel the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal this damage anymore
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored

No
Hear me out now
You're gonna listen to me, like it or not
Right now
Hear me out now
You're gonna listen to me, like it or not
Right now

I can't feel the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored

[Chorus]
I can't feel the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal this damage anymore
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored

I can't feel
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored

when i heard this song automatically thought oh ralph. because he is trying to get his word out to the kids, but the kids always seem to listen to jack, except piggy and simon. i think this song would be perfect for when jack and ralph had that argument in chapter 4. ralph would not let jack go for what he did, ralph was about to make jack sorry for letting the fire out and for messing up the chance of there way home. another time i think would this song be good is when ralph had the meeting in chapter 5. he took control of the meeting and let his opinion and what he thought of the boys be made.

The song it's "survivor" by Destiny's Child:

[Chorus]
I'm a survivor (what),
I'm not gonna give up (what),
I'm not gon' stop (what),
I'm gonna work harder (what),
I'm a survivor (what),
I'm gonna make it (what),
I will survive (what),
Keep on survivin' (what),
I'm a survivor (what),
I'm not gonna give up (what),
I'm not gon' stop (what),
I'm gonna work harder (what),
I'm a survivor (what),
I'm gonna make it (what),
I will survive (what),
Keep on survivin' (what).

I think this song is relate it to the book "The Lord of the Flies" because Ralph as Piggy are doing everything to survive, I mean, they just think about that and they are the only ones who trying to keep the fire on.

Good & Evil

Caught you walkin’ like a gangster
Saw you grabbin’ the controls
Now you’re almost outta batteries
You gottta sweater much too small

Pokin’ at your navel
Pointin’ your finger too
You say your lips don’t even stick together
When the dust comes up
Blowin’ ’cross the plains
Pictures are fallin’ in and outta their frames!

Singing : good and evil, good and evil
They turn ’em loose and they turn into people

Singing : good and evil, good and evil
They turn ’em loose and they turn into people

You know that roses and lilacs are funky too?
Let ’em go at it, let’s see what they do
Now they’re wrestlin’ with the forces of good and evil
They turn ’em loose and they turn into people

I have seen you do things backward
You don’t believe a word I say
Now you’re holdin’ sticky paper
Money never fades away

Talkin’ like a monster
Smellin’ like a baby
You got a head like a bowl of cherries now
Don’t be surprised
You got what it takes
Messin’ round like monkeys and apes

Singing : good and evil, good and evil
They turn ’em loose and they turn into people

Singing : good and evil, good and evil
They turn ’em loose and they turn into people

You know that roses and lilacs are funky too?
Let ’em go at it, let’s see what they do
Ah - they’re messing with the forces of good and evil
They turn ’em loose, they turn into people

This relates to the whole book because it says how the evil and good turns into people and takes control of them and they just can't stop it because they get used to it controling there life

The song that I chose to connect to LOTF is "Bring your whole crew" by DMX. The song has a lot of profanity so I'm not going to put down the lyrics. But the song is filled with violent lyrics. It talks about people of different gangs killing each other. One line in the song says,"...and that vest won't do nothin' but make you look a little thicker, cause in the dark you ain't nothin' but a little n*****" This line parallels with Jack and Ralph because Jack would say that Ralph uses the conch to make him seem powerful, when really he isn't that good a leader. This is just like the song where DMX says that the other man uses a bulletproof vest to seem powerful but when there is a call to action, he isn't powerful at all. when he really isn't. The music in the song is very fast-paced and sets an angry and violent mood to the songs melody. This reminded me of the violence on the island.

Disasterpiece
By: Slipknot

I wanna slit your throat and @#$% the wound

(no one is - safe)
Noises, noises, people make noises
People make noises when theyre sick
Nothing to do except hold on to nothing

How does it feel to be locked inside another dream
That never had a chance of being realized?

(hate) hate aint enough to describe me
(scream) somewhere between screaming and crying
Im not supposed to be here
Im not supoosed to be

Im gone - goodbye - its so depressing
Withering away
Take a look - inside - my soul is missing
All I have is dead, so Ill take you with me

(down) scratching and clawing and bitting all the way

(live) is there another way to live?

-----------------------------------
The first verse saying "I wanna slit your throat" is like how the "tribe" wants to cut off Ralph's head.

The chorus saying "Noises noises...nothing to do exept hold on to nothing." is how i imagine Ralph feels being all alone now and trying to hide and has nobody there to be with him.

The verse saying "How does it feel to be locked inside another dream." is like how all the kids must have felt when they first crashed on the island and all is like a big fantasy or a dream.

"Im gone - goodbye - its so depressing,
Withering away," This is like piggy and Simon being washed out to sea, and "Withering away" is the Pig's head.

"Take a look - inside - my soul is missing
All I have is dead, so Ill take you with me." This bridge sound so much like Jack and Roger and their missing souls.

"(down) scratching and clawing and biting all the way." this is exactly what they did to Simon.

"(live) is there another way to live?" Yeah they dont need meat to live.

Evil, runnin' through our brain
We and evil's just about the same

"Dancing For Rain"

we're losing daylight but i can't work any faster.
under the veil of dusk we go on
don't close your eyes.
what if it all disappears in the shadows
that reach from the stars?

if i held my ground would you ask me to change?
this drought bleeds on now we're dancing for rain
we drink the air but it's still not the same
these worlds collide but the distance remains
we point the finger, never accept the blame and i know.. i know

let's go!

the waters gone but the fire still rages on here
the men all shrugged their shoulders and left
we sleep so sound in rooms just up the stairs
will you save us like you saved them?

if i held my ground would you ask me to change?
this drought bleeds on now we're dancing for rain
we drink the air but it's still not the same
these worlds collide but the distance remains
we point the finger, never accept the blame and i know.. i know

you've bled me dry, but i'm still breathing
i swear i'm sucking dry the sky
and you won't ever find us kneeling
or swallowing your lies

if i held my ground would you ask me to change?
this drought bleeds on now we're dancing for rain
we drink the air but it's still not the same
these worlds collide but the distance remains
we point the finger, never accept the blame, and i know.. i know

this drought bleeds on... this drought bleeds on.

--- the song doesn't really have a designated meaning, but the guitar and all that really tells about the hardship that the boys faced while on the island

The video that i chose was I wan'na be like you by Louis Prima i wasn't sure how to put it on but that is who it's by. It reminds me a lot of LOTF because its obvious it says i wana be like you and that reminded me ralph and jack how at first jack wanted to like ralph he wanted all power and to be chief until after ralph wanted to have power back and in the video the orangitan wants fire so hes taking with the man cub and the man cubs friends come to rescue him and they find out all the orangitan wants is fire like when Jack wanted fire so the savages came and took the specs once youll watch you will see how much it compares to LOTF.

"The point of no return" by Immortal Technique

This is the point from which I could never return
And if I back down now then forever I burn
This is the point from which I could never retreat
Cause If I turn back now there can never be peace
This is the point from which I will die and succeed
Living the struggle, I know I'm alive when I bleed
From now on it can never be the same as before
Cause the place I'm from doesn't exist anymore

- This is just the hook of the song. This reminds me a lot of the boys that live and try to survive on the island as an individual. Though Golding puts it in a way that some of the boys miss their home alot. I think this hook represents how in the end, nobody really trusts anybody anymore. Especially at the end when Ralph is alone with nobody else by his side. This hook relates to what I think Ralph was going through before he got lucky and was rescued. Because there was no point in returning to trying to make ONE TRIBE again, because he knows there will be no peace whatsoever...

The song "Chanpaigne for my real friends, and real pain for my sham friends" by Fall Out Boy reminds me of Lord Of The Flies.

[Chorus]
Strike us like matches
'Cause everyone deserves the flames
We only do it for the
Scars and stories, not the fame
At least everyone is trying
Everyone is shining
Everyone deserves the flames

This part of this song reminds me of when the group frist got to the island, and they were trying to make fire. Everybody deserved it becuase everybody was missing home, but not everybody was trying as hard. Some people only worked on the fire to show that they're stong(Jack).

I chose "The 8th of November" by Big and Rich. because it is about a veteran of a war. I relate this to LOTF because it's about the death and destruction of a war. The war is a testament to how evil people can be which is what Golding is trying to show us in LOTF by having the primal side of the boys, which is in everyone, come out and lets the boys bathe in it.

"clocks" by coldplay

lyrics:

The lights go out and I can't be saved
the Tides that I tried to swim against,
Have, brought me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg, and plead, singing.
Come out with things unsaid
Shoot an apple off my head
And a trouble that can't be named
And tigers waiting to be tamed, singing

Home, where I wanted to go, [home]
Home, where I wanted to go, [home]
Home, (you...)where I wanted to go...

I think this song relates to Ralph and how he wants to go home so bad and how he and the boys are facing so many obsticles on the island and he's getting home sick. In the lyrics when it says "And a trouble that can't be named" i think this refers to Jack and how Ralph is fed up with him and all the trouble he causes on the island. And when it talks about the "little tiggers" i think of lil littleun's. This song shows more of Ralphs feelings and how he wants to be resuced of the island.

Seems like yesterday we used to rock the show
I laced the track, you locked the flow
So far from hangin on the block for dough
Notorious, they got to know that
Life ain't always what it seem to be (uh-uh)
Words can't express what you mean to me
Even though you're gone, we still a team
Through your family, I'll fulfill your dream (that's right)
In the future, can't wait to see
If you open up the gates for me
Reminisce some time, the night they took my friend (uh-huh)
Try to black it out, but it plays again
When it's real, feelings hard to conceal
Can't imagine all the pain I feel
Give anything to hear half your breath (half your breath)
I know you still living your life, after death

[Chorus: Faith Evans]

Every step I take, every move I make
Every single day, every time I pray
I'll be missing you
Thinkin of the day, when you went away
What a life to take, what a bond to break
I'll be missing you

[Puff] I miss you Big

[Verse Two: Puff Daddy]

It's kinda hard with you not around (yeah)
Know you in heaven smilin down (eheh)
Watchin us while we pray for you
Every day we pray for you
Til the day we meet again
In my heart is where I'll keep you friend
Memories give me the strength I need (uh-huh) to proceed
Strength I need to believe
My thoughts Big I just can't define (can't define)
Wish I could turn back the hands of time
Us in the 6, shop for new clothes and kicks
You and me taking flicks
Makin hits, stages they receive you on
I still can't believe you're gone (can't believe you're gone)
Give anything to hear half your breath (half your breath)
I know you still living you're life, after death

This song reminds me of Ralph's feelings when piggy was killed because Piggy was his only real friend on the island who did not betray him, and they were together ever since the beginning.

"If Everyone Cared" by Nickelback-

[Chorus:]
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

-This reminds me of the whole story, mainly towards the end where Simon, and Piggy die. It shows how Ralph basically wanted peace on the island; he wanted them all to be together as a group and not to be at such a war with one another. If only Jack hadn't rebelled against Ralph, things would've been in better conditions. Simon and Piggy would have still been alive, if the boys had only 'swallowed their pride' and got over the little arguments in which they faced. With peace, brings along happiness.

Stressed out by A tribe called quest

Lyrics
Intro/Chorus: Faith Evans

I really know how it feels to be, stressed out, stressed out
When you're face to face with your adversity
I really know how it feels to be, stressed out, stressed out
We're gonna make this thing work out eventually

Verse One: Consequence, Q-Tip

Yo I ain't one to complain but there's things in the game
(What's your name?) Consequence, I'm tight, burnt like flames
(And why's that?) American dreams, they got this ghetto kid in a fiend

Don't stress that cause it's not in your bloodstream
Your whole being, comes from greatness, d'you remember
Shatan got you caught in the storms of December
And brothers on the block packin nines like September
Crazy situations keeps pockets on slender

Yo I be on the avenue where they be actin brand new
I'm splurgin on these Reebok joints for shorty boo

All of a sudden, I saw these two kids frontin
Talkin out they joints but they wasn't sayin nuttin
My hand was on my toolie they was actin unruly
(Say word) Yo word up, yo I was tight caught up
But I swallowed my pride and let that nonsense ride
Because I'm positive it seems that negative dies

Yo we was at the dice game makin these cats look silly
Flamin, steady runnin off at the Willie

I had my cash mixed, my rent due, with my play-dough
I gotta see some loot so all my girls I blow
Shook them shits in my palm let em hit the flo'
Kept my eyeballs scopin for them pigs po-po
I got to go on the ave see my parole by fo'
But I gotta steady freak these boys like JoJo

And I was doin it, til I met Ike, Spike, and Mike
One roll, they had my pockets thirstier than Sprite

Yo I know the feelin, when you feelin like a villain
You be havin good thoughts but the evils be revealin
and the stresses of life can take you off the right path (no doubt)
Jealousy and envy tends to infiltrate your staff
We gotta hold it down so we can move on past
all adversities, so we can get through fast, like that

Chorus

Verse Two: Consequence

You got the N.W.O. (low cash flow)
Your baby's on the way (and you don't know who)
And crosstown niggaz tryin to (bust at you)
Aiyyo they got me stressed out (and you don't know what to do)
So frame this Kodak black, and vision to my contact
with a poultry scrap, workers get pistol smacked
The switch hittin Queens, niggaz liquid sword spittin
with raw poppy, and now your first love is krill
Your vision of the mil got crept like Hey Lover
Tried to rise to the top, you just couldn't recover
And all I want is my laceration of the pie
to get this whip cream before the water runs dry
Niggaz flashdancin yo I don't know why
You're sick of snitchin, she got you cruisin to the pokey
like Smokey, the stress be tryin to squeeze out a homey
While I be tryin to get star status like Shinobi
So we can build a dynasty, just like the Toby's
And all I want, is the world to know my steez
These money hungry niggaz is seven thirty
And got me stressed out like these frog MC's

Chorus

Outro: Faith Evans

Don't worry we gon make it (gonna make it)
Don't worry we gon make it (oh yeah)
Don't worry we gon make it (gonna make it)
We gon make it (gotta make it)
Don't worry we gon make it (gotta make it)
We're gonna make it (we gotta make it)
Don't worry we gon make it (we gonna make it)
We gonna make it (ohhhhhhh)
Don't worry we gon make it (ohhhhhhh)
Don't worry we gon make it (gonna make it)
Don't worry we gon make it (ohhhhhhh)
We gon make it (ahaowwhwwww)
Don't worry we gon make it (ahahwwww)
I know we gonna make it (we're gonna make it)
C'mon baby we gon make it (yeahhhh)
We gon make it (yeahhahhahhhh)
Don't worry we gon make it (we're gonna make it)
We've gotta make it (we've gotta make it)
We've gotta make it (oh yeah)
Know we're gonna make it
We're gonna make it, gonna make it, we gotta make it, know we gonna make it...

"Dance with the Devil" by Immortal Technique

My verse is...

"He could be standing right next to you, and you wouldn't know
The devil grows inside the hearts of the selfish and wicked
White, brown, yellow and black colored is not restricted
You have a self destructive destiny when your inflicted
And you'll be one of gods children and fell from the top
There's no diversity because we're burning in the melting pot
So when the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never
Because the dance with the devil might last with you forever"

- This connects to Golding's perspective on how boys are viscious because the boys start off as innocent then they want to be savages and then they become savages, and now their just at an evil mind state. This song also says how the devil doesn't discriminate against anybody. The boys are really young which shows the devil doesn't discriminate against age. The boys basiclly said yes to "dancing with the devil" because they have lost their conscience and it'll be hard for them to go back to their normal lives.
