nick seems to want to shift the responsibility to others and so he blames his girlfriend for his actions. somehow people that do that want to escape the reality of the problems they face and put the responsibility upon others so they can run away. but in the end hiding in corners where no one can find you backfires and ultimately your left with reality staring you down and theres nowhere to hide.

this is chris kendrick from mrs.kreugar's 3rd period class...in Breathing Underwater, nick is very selfish and careless and he likes to instigate alot toward caitlyn. he supposedly loves her but he is hurting her mentally and physically and he is blind toward his own actions. nick expects caitlyn to be helplessly devoted to him and no one else.

Well veronica maybe the reason why he wont move on is because probably he really loves her...or he just needs someone that he knows who is weak and wont do nothing to him...basically he just wants someone to control...i think its because of how he lives his life out of school with his father...who doesnt really show his feelings with words but with his fist..so he takes everything on her..just like how the father takes everything out on him..and...yeah...so if he leaves her..then who can he really control..nobody..so thats why he aint trying to leave her...yeah..thats my opinion...

Well Nick was swerving on the road because he was drunk. And I think Caitlin did the right thing in stoping Nick because it seemed like he was going to crash, besides Caitlin didn't even know Nick was going to hit her at the moment. But the negative side, she shouldn't have because she was moving the wheel while he was driving and really would have killed them both.

i think that Nick said he barely slapped Caitlin because he didnt realize what he had done at the time. He couldnt think clearly about his actions because he probably thought it was normal because his father hit him and he just had to deal with it.
