tis the first day possible and im the first to post something. Simon Glass seems like a character who doesnt really know or care much bout how people act or care to follow them in any way. so the question i pose to all of you people who care to read this is why did Glass follow Rob anyway and start to care?

for rob its not somuch to prove to other people that he has control over other people as it is to prove to himself that he has control over other people. some event happened to rob that compells him to have utter control over others so its a sence of sucurity with him. most of what rob does goes right over the heads of most people except simon.
i find it strange that while simon knows whats going on he allowed himself to be humilliated like that. it doesnt quithe fit. could it possibly be that simon has the potential to be just as manipulitive as rob?

To awswer cristalg2cerra question, Rob view this thing as a way to show his power in the senior class. He see that making a greek like Simon into one the big boys it will show how resorceful and knowing Rob is, also it show POWERFUL Rob is at school.

young was in need of a father who would truly support him. coup was in need of someone who could tell him he can make it to the outside world and go beyond the gas station. and as for bob he needed someone else with charm to help him out a little when on rare occasion he got stuck. and as the result they all come together as a mini family. but the main thing is they were all drawn to rob and so they would do anything for im weather or not they understood. that is why they helped out with glass.
To Ms. Lopez,I belived that those blurbs show us how the other teens see this mess and we also see a little bit more about the gang. I also think that this foreshadow the result and if you ask me it doesn't look to good.

simon seems to show no hatred torwards the popular people that have mocked him i am wondering why? also rob is helping simon for a reason but he is not saying what he truly wants simon can tell rob will want something out of simon.
Ms cerra's paragraph gives me a new idea. Although I didn't finish the book but I have a interesting prediction about how the story will end: Simon is a powerful and has good skill of manipulation even before he met Rob, he just want to pretend stupid in school. But Rob invite Simon to get involve again. At that time, Simon is tired to pretend stupid. He will turns out to real Simon even Rob doesn't comes up. Young probablly suffer too much in the end of the story because Simon took her girlfriend, he is going to kill Simon physically.
It seem that Young loves poems and stuff like that but his dad want him to be a doctor like him. Do you guys think that Young is following his dreams now after the events in the book?

I agree with anthonyg2henry, if you guys read chaper 12 you'll see that Rob is not the preson he appear to be. For all we know Rob could have even been dorker then Glass when he was a kid.

Simon is in some way confused in who he is right now. Young is a very sincere and nice guy who will be there for his friends and even Ronna for as long as they are with each other. And why would Rob lie about where he lived before and what his real name is? why would he tell his friends other wise?

Reply: Generally answer for this question will be Rob like challenge himself and turning Simon to a cool kid will be a real hallenge. This is accroding to what Rob said in the book. But as I read farther to the second half of the book, Rob became an other mystery in the story. Which means there could be a reason why Rob want to help Simon. It could be because Simon and Rob are acctually fighting for something under the table, or they are processing a team. We will get the answer as we read along.
to correct my mistakes for the previous blog, I miss a few words in the second last sentence. In there I mean Rob and Simon could be fighting for something or Rob and Simon are acctually working as a team and processing a plan.

imagery- coop gets injured and he can not play football anymore. then that saturday they throw a party for him, as like a congradulations even though it is kinda sad how he cant play anymore. coop still had fun his coach came by and said hi to him. oh and that before when he was just with his tean he had to sign a paper in like memory, and they let him keep the pen, and a lot of people dont really get to keep the pens.

Reply: I think only Simon really did the thing that kicked out lance. Although Rob said that they need someone new to pick on and he suggested to pick on Lance, but Rob didn't make anymove to practice his idea. But Simon really did something that hurt Lance very much like sending the fake letter to Alice. Only because the group doesn't stop him made us think that the whole group kicked out Lance.

Reply:Simon is also very manipulative, and I think Simon did notice about this a little bit, but not that clear. Not clear enough to take defensive action. I didn't read that far yet but I can make a guess that Rob's mystery is the most important event that happend in the story, although I thought that the story is all about how Simon became too cool and how Robs get him out.
Is Simon and Youngs' action about finding Rob's secret a part of Rob's plan? If it is not, did Rob even notice about this?
young gives ronna up so easily because he knows robs secret and if this helps rob heal then he puts his loyalty there. young thought he could easily have ronna back and maybe he would have but he lied to rob and disreguarded ronnas feelings.
considering how rob reacted when simon told him about his own secret by the end of the book i dont think he antisipated this so theres no chance he noticed beforehand either.
I think rob is aguy who loves challenge and he took this as challenge to make simon as popular guy in whole school.So he can show every one that nothing is impossible for him.

Reply: It was because Simon likes Ronna. This is since Simon dance with Ronna in the homecomming dance.Rob didn't perposly breaks Young and Ronna up. He just care about his plan on Simon. Only thing is Young and Ronna's relationship is blocking his way.

Simon as Young says is Robs "puppet" he does everythhing that Rob tells him to do yet again so does Coop, Bob and Young. Simon knew that they weren't his real friend's. While Simon was supposed to win for Class Favorite but instead Rob won, so in ways Robs plan didnt work with getting Simon to be elected as Class Favorite.

Reply: Simon changed the deal. He hacked in the computer system again and put all his vote into Rob. Second, he told everyone about Rob's secret and made Rob really mad.

Young is obedient and Simon is not. Although we thought that Simon is very stupid and he will obey what Rob tell him to do but it turns out a taltally diffrent thing and the death of Simon has a big connection of his disobedient.

Do you think Coop will ever admit that Simon was the one who did his exam for him adn he was the one who always help in his studies. Coop broke his kneee and he didn't even got his scholarship yet and now there is nothing to loose and Simon cant help him this time. What will coop do?

i think the relationship between Simon and Coop and Young was a real friendship and i think they felt the same way, and thats why they didn't have part in the killing
I think that rob didnt say nothing to any one about him being molested because maybe he was to affraid to tell people or maybe rob even liked the molestation.
`I think that the since of killing Simon is all by accident. Simon was foolish enough to discover Rob's secret in "Rob's office" even they didn't kill him, Simon is going to get beat up. And no one knows that Rob and Bob will become so uncontrolable and crazy. The story stops at the point that they all run away, and the author tell reader what happen next in the previous dialog. This writting stregtergy is new and i never met.
Does jealousy have anything to do with the reasoning of them killing Simon? I think there may have been a chance that a few of the boys were getting jealous.
Why does the author put the baseball bat in the scene that they went into Rob's office? Is that a forshadowing for the death of Simon? But I don't really think it is going to help us predic anything. I don't reallize the symblo of baseball bat until I re-read the book. Anyone got a idea?

I believe that once Simon is brought into Rob's posse he is the one controlling the group by using his brain, humor, as well as the computer. Also, i think that Simon is more evil than Rob because he uses his power to manipulate many sutuation which i believe ultimately leads to him death.

For a conclusion, I like the book because the theme is new to me and plot in the story is unpredictable. from the beginning to the end, I made a lot of mistakes in prediction. This is a kind of good because it will make the book more fun and mysterious to me.

I think that Young always obeys what Rob tells him to do because when Young found out what happened to Rob something in him swore that he would do anything for Rob, he is loyal to Rob and maybe even felt badly for what had happened to him when he was younger.

Simon knew that his "friends" weren't his real friends.He was just using them so he could get popular,which he did get popular.I don't think he should of done that. I think that he could of got popular without their help.He could of helped himself if he really tried.
As I finished this book I realized that it has moral to it, that you shouldn't change the way that you are. Simon knew that Rob, Young, Coop, and Bob weren't his real friend's. He shouldn't have used them because look at where it got him. His plan back fired even if he had one. He should have left it all alone and listned to Rob, because if he did then he wouldn't be dead.
who should have had the worst punishment out of the people who saw Simon die.(Rob,Young,Coop,Bob).
I think that Rob might feel as if he has to have total control over certain situations because of what had happened to him with his father. He doesn't want to loose control again.

Simon should not have talked back when he was gettin beat down with that bat he should of got up and said sorry and then when everything calms down he should of came back and cracked Rob over the head with a baseball bat.

I don't blame anybody in particular for Simon's death. I think that they all played a part in it. Most just went along with everyone else. Whether they hit Simon or stood there and watched they should of known what they were getting themselves into and stopped it before it got so out of hand.
